Three Tips to Help Bring Traffic to Your Site

One of the biggest problems internet marketers face is getting traffic. So many people believe the myth ‘if you build it they will come’. Believe me, that’s far from the truth!

Here are three tips to help bring traffic to your site:

1. Article marketing. This is one of the easiest ways to generate traffic to your site. Not only will you genearte traffic writing articles is a great way to distinguish yourself as an expert in your niche.

If you aren’t a great writer, don’t have the time to write or just simply don’t want to do it you can hire a ghost writer to do it for you. And of course there is always PLR (private label rights) as well.

2. Forum Marketing. Also known as message boards. This is another useful tactic in generating traffic to your site. Make sure you are joining forums that are relevant to your niche and where your target market is likely to be hanging out.

Don’t join a forum and immediately post a ’sales pitch’. In fact before you even post a link sharing about your services or product you should become ‘known’ around the forum. It’s all about building relationships first!

3. Video Traffic. The idea of creating a video can be a bit scary but you need to step out of your comfort zone and create a compelling video that will be beneficial to your target audience. Make something that is going to grab people’s attention and keep them interested and end with a call to action. Don’t forget to put a link to your website in the video where people can see it clearly.

Those are only three tips to get you started on bringing more traffic to your site. If you would like 98 more tips and a deeper explanation of the tips listed above pick up your copy of

Three Tips to Help Build Your Mailing List

If you’ve been around the internet marketing world for any amount of time chances are you’ve heard those questions on more than one occasion. So many people focus on getting to the top of search engines when they could be spending that time working on building their list ,which is actually more beneficial than being at the top of the search engines! Google can drop you faster than a blink of the eye but a list can “Google proof” your income.

Building a list can be challenging but with these three tips you will be on your way to building an incredible list.

1. Build a relationship first. Your main objective should not be money but building a relationship with your list. Don’t send email after email that just offers your product or service. Yes putting your product and services in front of your subscribers eyes is key to making money. However, they more than likely signed up for your list expecting to get something out of it not just sales pitch after sales pitch. And you will find if you do that you’ll have unsubscriber after unsubscriber. So focus on relationship building first and the monetary aspect later.

2. Be consistent. Consistency is key! Have you ever signed up for a list only to end up forgetting you even signed up for it because the emails were so far and few in between? Not only does it cause list subscribers to forget they signed up but it causes the potential for loss of income and then if you decide to start the list back up later it’s going to be tougher to get those subscribers to open those emails! So when you start that list make sure you are consistent!

3. Use a good autoresponder company. Each company will have different pros and cons you’ll need to evaluate and decide what will be the best for you and your needs. An autoresponder is where you’ll keep your emails, find your opt-in code, keep an eye on tracking – how many subscribers are actually opening your emails, etc. So it’s imperative that you have a reliable autoresponder company!

Those are just three tips of 101 that you will find in the 101 Smart and Easy Mailing List Strategies guide. If you want to start a mailing list or already have a mailing list pick up your copy of

EBooks: A High Profit, Low-Maintenance Business

If you are serious about making money online, there are a number of ways to do it. One profitable idea is eBooks. They require very little cost upfront and can provide lots of revenue for your business.

What are EBooks?

EBooks are digital reading media that is easy to pass along to others. Many are opting for electronic books over printed books these days for several reasons. One, eBooks are shorter versions of more traditional books that can be created and published by you.

Secondly, eBooks are easy to use and store. They fill files on your computer instead of space on bookshelves in your home. EBooks can be read in PDF format online or printed to take with you. Unlike traditional books, as soon as you order an eBook, you can have access to it in minutes.

What does that mean to you?

Do you like to write? If you have a way with words and a talent for enticing readers, you can use eBooks to bring a profit to your blog or website. Use your niche as subject matter for your eBooks. Since you already have knowledge about, say, Internet marketing, put your experience to work by offering it to others in the form of an eBook.

The cost to you is negligible. With a blog or website, you already have access to the Internet and a computer that is probably filled with software that is needed to work with eBooks: Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word. It is not a matter of creating the inside of the eBook. There are books and online articles that give tips for writing eBooks people will want to read.

EBooks vary in size. You may be able to charge more for longer books or you may command a good price for shorter ebooks that provide very concise and valuable information.

An eBook can be composed in a Word document on your computer. Use Microsoft Publisher to format your work and add extras to attract readers. Turn your Word document into a PDF file for easier downloading and printing by customers.

Selling EBooks

Now that you have created this eBook, you’ll need to find a way to get it into people’s hands. Marketing your eBook follows the same lines as marketing your website or blog.

Use article marketing to draw attention to your eBooks. Create an article series based on your eBook. Submit these articles to article sites and on your blog or website. Give just enough information in the articles to have the reader wanting to know more. In the resource box, mention the eBook and link to your website. Submit articles to social bookmarking sites with links to your website page showcasing the eBooks.

For customer ease, link your eBooks with your checkout process. Once the customer pays (PayPal, credit card, debit card) they will receive a link via email or automatically where they can download your product.

EBooks cost you next to nothing to produce so the money you make is all profit. Turn your writing skills and expertise in a certain area into money for your business.

How Moms can Make Money Helping other Moms

If it’s one thing moms can do it is stick together. Making life run smoothly with kids, home and career can be a tall order. Communicating with other moms helps to ease the stress. If you are looking for a business venture, why not make money helping moms just like yourself?

What will you offer to these moms? Well, your product is as close as your memory. Your expertise is the product you can market to moms everywhere. There are situations that you have encountered and overcome as a mom that other mothers are facing too. They could benefit from what you know to make their life a bit easier.

Packaging your Product – EBooks

Put your advice down on paper. You probably have a lot of good advice to offer but it won’t sound like much unless you can get it out of your brain and into a legible format. If you have a talent for writing this will be less of a challenge for you. Take a writing course to bone up on the finer points of writing outlines and organizing your thoughts on paper.

Your format for these organized thoughts is an eBook. Everyone has heard of them but might not know exactly what they are. An eBook is essentially a book in digital form. You can create and publish them yourself. For the work that you put into the project, you are greatly rewarded with pure profit.

The first consideration is the length of your eBook. A typical eBook can have as few as 70 pages or as many as 150. People will pay more for longer eBooks.

EBooks are popular media because they can be downloaded or printed in an instant. As soon as the payment is processed, the customer gains access to the eBook. No storage space other than what is on your computer or flash drive is needed to house the eBooks you buy.

Selling your EBooks

Consider your market – other moms. Let’s say that the subject of your eBook is getting a toddler through the terrible twos and threes. Fill your eBooks with information that moms want to know:

• Tips for bedtime
• Disciplinary tips
• Going out in public
• Dealing with mom stress
• Testimonials
• True life examples

All of these ideas can be used to flesh out your eBook. These same bullet points can be selling points for your eBook. When creating the eBook website page, use snippets from stories in the book, testimonials from others who have read the book and a partial list of chapters in the eBook as advertising on the page.

Condense chapters into enticing articles that you submit to article directories. Don’t give away too much because you want moms to buy your eBooks. Supply a link to your website in the resource box.

As a mom you can join online forums to share your helpful advice with other moms. Use a link to your eBook page in your signature line for easy access. As you develop a following on these forums, other members will visit your site and see your eBooks.

EBooks can be used to share information that you have learned as a mom with other moms. They are easy to create and with a marketing strategy, can bring large profit to your business.

How My Business Has Grown in One Year

Well, we’re coming up on the one year anniversary of ProVBS! June 1, 2008, I officially “opened the door” to my new online adventure as a virtual assistant. I though I would get this post out now because over the next few weeks I’m going to be very busy with graduations, a visit from my sister whom I haven’t seen in 6 years, The Chosen Conference, The Big Ticket Festival, and all the other fun activities summer brings.

So, looking back to this time one year ago, I was well on my way to starting my new online business as a virtual assistant. I had gotten the VBSS kit earlier in the year, then went on a two week mission trip to Nigeria. After I returned home from Africa, mid April, I opened the kit and began taking the steps toward opening my new virtual assistant business. The services I offered were database management, blog post writing, event planning and more.

I was so excited about being a business owner, I quickly got a blog up on Wordpress.com. I also joined Twitter and was beginning to take advantage of it’s power. Soon after I had my Wordpress.com blog up, I was approached by someone who offered to help me set up a Wordpress.org site on my own domain. Because I didn’t know that much about domain names and how important it was to have a dot com as opposed to a dot net or dot org, I went with dot org. Soon after, I learned why it’s important to have a dot come, had learned how to set up my own Wordpress.org site (the one you see here), so I paid the gal that helped me, moved everything over to my own host and began being much more proactive in my business.

I also joined Mom Masterminds. This was the most important step I made in starting my business. I found huge amounts of support and camaraderie with other WAHM’s, who’ve been in business a long time and those who were also just starting out. If I wouldn’t have joined Mom Masterminds, my business wouldn’t be where it is today.

July 3, 2008 I joined Blog Evangelists, a teaching program by Kelly McCausey and Lynette Chandler. Kelly teaches you how to market to local business owner, to help them understand the importance of having a business blog and how it can help boost their business. Lynette teaches you how to customize a Wordpress blog. You get all of this for a very low monthly fee and you receive several lessons each month. It’s more valuable than the cost of membership, and well worth every dime.

As I was learning more about Wordpress, I was also working on getting my name out there. I was beginning to understand Twitter and was becoming more active. In October of 2008, Kelly posted a tweet asking if anyone would be interested in writing for one of her new sites. I immediately DM’d her back and said I was interested. Through a couple of email discussions, I was a new contributor for Profitable Mommy Blogging; my first paid writing job. I was so excited and knew having my name on that site would be a big boost for my business.

And I was right! A few days or a couple of weeks later, I don’t really remember, I was asked by the virtual assistant of another well know Internet Marketer to write for one of her sites as well. This site didn’t pay, but I knew getting my name out there was important and this was a huge site with tens of thousands of visitors each day. They did offer me some incentives to write for their site, which helped motivate me each month.

In November of 2008, I got a bright idea to start another blog. I wanted to focus this one on helping other people be as efficient as possible in their business and personal lives, and so Efficient WAHM was born. I got the site up and running with some content, and every day it’s still growing and evolving. I do product reviews; post giveaways that other’s are having (I love giveaways!); there are efficient cooking recipes of my own and recipes I’ve found on other sites-of course I always give credit where credit is due and link back to their site. There are also money saving tips, budgeting tips and so on. I’m currently looking at creating a newsletter for the site, filled with tons of great tips for my readers.

Shortly after I got efficient WAHM up and running, I was talking with my sister about working from home online. I told her about the many, many different ways there are to make money, and we decided to start a website called Open Talk Mom. My sister has diabetes and they are trying to determine if she as MS as well. She also has a brain disease that causes her brain to deteriorate more rapidly than normal, so Open Talk Mom was born out of a desire to help other people with disease and disability. But, OTM is more than that. We encourage anyone who just needs a place to vent or wants to talk about anything going on in their life. We have discussions about teen issues, parenting and more. We currently have 2 other authors, Alyssa Avant and Aurelia Williams, who signed on recently, and a contributor, Sheilah Warner-Blackledge. You can read all about them on the authors page and in their bios. As you can see, OTM is growing and thriving as well and continues to do so.

In December of 2008, the highly successful Internet Marketer I mentioned above, asked me to be on her writing team as a ghostwriter. Of course I jumped at the chance, and landed another paid writing job. This was fun, and I discovered I truly had a knack for this writing stuff, to my surprise! Not only did I have a knack for it, but I discovered that I actually love to write.

For Christmas, I received two Photoshop Tutorials from my hubby. I wanted to learn how to make custom headers for blogs and other custom graphics. I found a cool program online to help with the custom headers, and now offer that as a service as well. I’m still learning Photoshop on my own when I have time.

In February of 2009, another successful internet marketer asked me to do some ghostwriting for her as well. Wow! Three paid writing jobs now. It was then that I decided to switch my services and focus on offering writing services, custom headers, buttons and banners and setting up WordPress sites for others.

Since then, I’ve picked up another paid writing job, plus became the content manager for one of Aurelia’s sites. Because of all the work suddenly flooding in, I’ve had to actually outsource some of my own stuff, which is good, but was a big step for me. It’s hard to let go and place your work in the hands of others, but that’s what good business owners do; delegate and make room for more paying jobs.

As of right now, I’m currently working on finishing up the new business I received as part of the 10 Days of May Madness sale through Mom Mastermind’s. Through this sale, I gained several more new customers who are going to utilize my writing services and custom header services. I’m so glad I took part in this sale, and am a member of Mom Masterminds!

As you can see, business is very good and growing every day! Thanks to all of you who supported me, and to my clients for utilizing my writing skills to help your businesses. I am looking forward to another great year of growth in 2009!
